Zelda HD Tech Demo for the Nintendo Wii U

Zelda HD

Eiji Aonuma discussed with the video game world at E3 what the new tech demo of Zelda HD means for the series and obviously the Nintendo Wii U.  Obviously the current Nintendo Wii could not handle the graphical power that most video gamers are looking for when it comes to HD graphics.  So with the announcement of the Nintendo Wii U at E3 2011 Nintendo showed off a small look at what a possible HD version of the Legend of Zelda might look like.  Nintendo does such a great job at teasing all of us gamers.

Eiji Aonuma has stated that this is strictly a tech demo and is not any indication of what the next Legend of Zelda game will look or play like.  He made sure to point out the tech demo of Zelda at the 2000 Spaceworld where many gamers believed that is what Zelda The Wind Walker is going to look like.  It turned out that The Wind Walker had a completely different look than was expected and many were disappointed.  So the best thing to do is to look at the tech demo of Zelda HD as an example of what the Nintendo Wii U console will deliver.  No doubt the tech demo looks fantastic but I am sure Nintendo will deliver a great looking Zelda game on the Wii U.

I think one of the main things gamers need to focus on is while yes the game will look great,  think about what the new controller can mean for this game when it does in fact arrive.  The beauty of the controller is the use of the touch screen in order to use items in your inventory, use of the map, and to keep up to date on your health stats.  This will allow you to remove everything from the television screen and place it on the controller screen.  Imagine having the HUD completely removed from the television screen, I think we can all agree that this will be great.  I think we can all agree that the ideas are basically endless here on what can be done with the controller.

In closing, make sure you take a look at the Zelda HD tech demo below.  It really does show off what the Nintendo Wii U will be capable of in the near future.
